What We Fund

An excellent education begins and ends with great teachers. The Alamo Heights School Foundation exists to make sure our schools can keep them, no matter what happens at the state level.

Whether you have a child in Alamo Heights ISD today or not, you're part of a community that has always stepped up when the state falls short. Our goal is direct and specific: close the gap between what Texas provides and what our schools need to deliver the education this community expects.

The Teachers Texas Calls Non-Essential

The state of Texas classifies many of the roles that make an Alamo Heights education exceptional as non-essential. We disagree, and so does this community. Here are the positions our students depend on every day.

The Cost of Inaction

Since financial recapture began in the 1990s, more than $660 million in our community's property tax dollars have left Alamo Heights ISD and never returned to our classrooms. Today, the generosity of donors like you is what keeps these vital teachers in front of our students.
